Constitution Center and African-American History Museum



Professor Adriana Bohm(Sociology) and Professor Jeffrey LaMonica(History) took students from their bundled Experiences in Diversity and World Civilizations courses to the Constitution Center and the African-American History Museum in Philadelphia on 10 November 2011.

Gettysburg Trip April 2011



Professor Ife Williams(Political Science) and Professor Jeffrey LaMonica(History) led a group of DCCC students to Gettysburg on 15 April 2011. The trip included a visit to the boarding house in Chambersburg, PA where John Brown planned his 1859 raid on Harper's Ferry, WV. Stops on the Gettysburg Battlefield were Little Round Top, Seminary Ridge, and Cemetery Hill.

Baltimore Trip



Dr. Ife Williams(Political Science) and the Black and Woman's History Committee took a group of DCCC students on a trip to Baltimore on 1 April 2011. The trip included visits to the Frederick Douglass-Issac Myers Maritime Park, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African-American History, and the National Great Blacks in Wax Museum.

3rd Colored Infantry Regiment at DCCC



The Black and Woman's History Committee hosted the 3rd Colored Infantry Regiment for a living history presentation in the Large Auditorium on 2 February. The re-enactors discussed the role of African-American troops in the Union Army and displayed various Civil War artifacts.
